This will be one of many additions of “The Wise Healthy Wealthy Reading List,” which will become a common part of my daily articles.

Once a week I will publish a list of Top 5 books in a helpful category to push you to increase your knowledge and take action.

Buying a book and increasing your knowledge is solid action. It’s a step in the right direction.

And so comes our list on Investing. These are books that will teach you how to grow your money through various investment channels over time, as well as how to handle the emotional stress that comes with investing. These are not books on trading or speculation.

Books that pretend that investing is similar to gambling have no place on our reading list.

The Intelligent Investor

I recommend this book to anyone who needs to buy “stocks.”

This book is the bible when it comes to teaching people how to invest in individual companies.

It will teach you how not to speculate on news, and instead understand stock price in comparison to value.

Even though it has sold hundreds of thousands of copies, the wisdom in these pages still applies.

I strongly recommend reading this book before you put your money into individual stocks in the stock market.

The Book on Rental Property Investing

This post would be incomplete without a book recommendation on Real Estate Investing.

As much as I am not a “real estate guy” I must admit that in the last five years, real estate has far and away been my best investment.

Last year I sold all of the properties I didn’t live in and am already looking to get back into it.

This book was written for anyone wishing to learn how to invest in income properties, and specifically, house hack their way to wealth.

It worked for me, and I didn’t have any passion for Real Estate. It’s difficult to knock this style of investing.

The Simple Path to Wealth

This is the book I recommend to people to convince them that index fund investing is the way to go.

JL Collins does a fantastic job of explaining the value of Index Funds in this book.

The book was adapted from letters he sent to his daughter, hoping to teach her about wealth building.

It was an extremely enjoyable read.

Big Debt Crisis

If you plan to take an active role in your investing in any substantial way, you need to know and understand how the markets work, on a cyclical basis.

There is a pattern they take, and knowing that pattern will allow you to respond in an informed way, likely allowing your to preserve or expand your wealth when everyone else is panicking.

This is remarkably powerful information that most people are going to be too lazy to read and understand.

Do yourself a favor and put in the time and effort it takes to understand these pages.

I held off on publishing this post weeks ago to include this new book by Ray Dalio, the most successful hedge fund manager ever.

Antifragile

You had to know I’d include a book about the application of Stoic philosophy to the world of money and chaos.

This book ranks highly in both the Stocks category as well as the Personal Finance and Investing categories on Amazon.

Why? Because it is a guide to adopting the antifragile mindset, which doesn’t just survive chaos but gets stronger through chaos.

This list can’t be complete without an emotional and psychological playbook on how to whether the chaotic storms of the global financial markets.

The wealthy invest money all throughout their lives. In this time financial recessions are inevitable. To strengthen your wealth you must strengthen your mind.

It’s why Wise comes before Wealthy in Wise Healthy Wealthy.

With These Tools, Build A Future

Investing is the act of putting your money to work for you, and over time for your children, and their children.

It is the growing and stretching of wealth to span generations. Or just the means with which you can retire early. Whatever you’re into.

I’ve included books on:

  • Understanding stock investing
  • Real Estate Investing
  • Index Fund Investing
  • Market Economics
  • The antifragile mindset an investor needs

These are the tools needed to succeed in the investing world.
