Most of the time Instagram account of companies have the same weaknesses, the same problem I can say, there is a lot of tools on Instagram which are neglected and should not be.

Here is the starter pack to improve your traffic on Instagram, 5 tools: Hashtags, stories in the news, purchase publication, Linkin.Bio and the brand-new tool in the IG game IGTV!!

Hashtags:

I’m not personally very fond of those hashtags. They overload pictures description et using it too much gives a look of an amateur account. However, most of the time these are missing from a large amount of Instagram account. Well it is wise to use it in certain circumstances. Let me explain, there is a lot of worldwide known brand which use hashtags that are massively shared and that had a huge visibility.

Let’s take an example, you’re a brand, you launch an event and you don’t know how to reach more people on Instagram, start by knowing that not that much Vietnamese use this social media, then use hashtags that are massively shared, Which ones? It is as simple as this #HoChiMinhcity, #Saigon, putting just these two will allow you to drop your publication in a hashtag page with huge traffic of publication, it is about more than a 6 million people community that you will reach and potentially sensible to your contents.

It’s not a question of using hashtags in an abusive way but simply to relay some of them in order to generate additional traffic on the Instagram page

Stories in the news:

For some time now, Instagram has offered the opportunity to keep stories “in the spotlight” on our profile. Which is rarely exploited by a lot of business or brands. That functionality is particulary interesting if you dispose of a large quantity of contents. It allows you to put the emphasis for the desired duration a summary story of an event or other. It also gives the opportunity to your customers to learn and understand in a better way the universe of your brand, your events and many others.

Purchase publication:
Another feature that is not used on most page pages are purchase publications. So of course, we’re not just talking about the Instagram account of a shop. There is a definite interest in using this type of publications. It is simply a post that includes a product picture with its reference and price and a direct link to the page to buy it. This used wisely would allow any business for example to sell more merch (goodies, tees), subscription or to integrate links for the ticketing of certain events directly on the Instagram account and so more design and ergonomic than a simple link in description.

Linkin.Bio:
Another weak point is the lack of a direct link with the brand website. Posts are not directly related to the corresponding article online, it is up to the user to click on the site link and find the article in question on it. The Linkin.Bio feature allows you to attach each post to a URL. Thus the user only has to click on the post of his choice to be redirected directly on the corresponding article. Take the example of Highsnobiety who implemented this feature.

IGTV

Last “weak point” that I will evoke, the lack of IGTV content. So indeed, the concept is very recent on Instagram, but it is precisely the opportunity to develop new formats and get ahead of other media accounts. IGTV is a platform for posting and watching videos verticals of one hour maximum. For many companies this can be an opportunity to share new content, video concepts or even interview excerpts. In my opinion, this platform has a great potential for audience creation via suggestions, but also in terms of interactions with the community through more advanced content than what we used to consume on the Instagram application.
