Armed with my brand new wisepass account, I decided to try it by going to the CGV cinema in Tao Dien, located in a little shopping mall next to an UFC fitness. Anyway, fond of sci-fi, fantastic and action movies, my choice was made in a second. I took a ticket for the last Marvel movie Spider Man Far from Home which is also one of my favorite character of the Marvel universe, and probably the one that generate the biggest amount of money. I sat comfortably on my seat and then started to appreciate the movie.

Spider-man: Far from Home is probably the most successful Spider-man movie, it has made $971 million worldwide, making it the fourth-highest-grossing film of 2019. And I say it Tom Holland is probably the most suited for the role of Spider-Man instead of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield

Anyway, let’s talk about the movie

Still stunned by the last Avengers, I was excepting a sequel of Endgame, a kind of extension of it, but it turns out that it’s more like a transition for the next phase than a continuation. It sets up the context for the upcoming MCU movies which are already reported.

A new world context

The most impressive fact about the MCU is that it connects more than 20 movies together and sometimes, for the Avengers movies for example it gathers the main characters of all them in a single one story. Starting from 2008 with Iron-Man to nowadays with Spiderman far from home the story-line of the MCU has evolved a lot, we started in a world where there was no super-hero, no super-powers, the first one to be known was tony stark and his armor but people from earth wasn’t used to this kind of stuffs. Jump in time, we are now after the Endgame, the defeat of Thanos, the Spider-man story now take places in a world where there is a whole team of super-hero, with super-powers, people coming from other galaxies, other worlds, hidden cities on earth, aliens and gods who launch attacks on earth, and people all know about that since the first “Avengers “. But now the snap that erased half of the universe made a huge mess in that world, years have passed, heroes died and then we lost a great part of the original team: Iron-man, Black widow, Captain America, Hulk. A fact that makes our Spidey the new generation, a kind of successor, but he still young and unexperimented.

The story takes place few times after the war against Thanos and the death of Tony which was very close to Peter, having been erased during Infinity war as his classmates, they missed years, in fact they have to catch up school years that they lost by doing a trip abroad. Here we are!! Spidey far from home and in Europe. Leaving his costume at home just to concentrate on his teenager life and holidays he didn’t know that Nick Fury would be here to remind him that he isn’t just a teenager and he has to deal with villains, monsters and other dimension creatures by the way. The movie shows us Spiderman teaming up with Mysterio one of the most popular villain of the comics, fighting together against monsters, the plot of the story is very well thought as if we never rode the comics, we cannot know that it is a villain, moreover all the antagonist has a strong and deep backstory linked to Tony Starks. Something that makes them even more linked to Peter.

Expectation for our Spider-man are many, we are waiting for him to take the succession of his mentor as a leader for the next generation of super-hero and as an Avengers. But he also has to deal with his teenager life, make choices, protect his people and deal with his double identity. Now that everyone knows that peter parker is Spider-man, we cannot pretend knowing how it will be for the sequel, given to how his identity has been revealed to the public,in this movie, in a way more different form than his predecessor. That put an official end at the phase 3 and let’s be honest our Spidey is in big trouble but the MCU is about to come up harder than ever and I’m glad to.
