The Singaporean lifestyle app has inked a partnership with Dash Thailand to increase the use of Dash across South East Asia and beyond

This article will provide more details in 10 questions

Can you introduce Dash?

Dash is a digital currency that enables anyone, anywhere in the world to make quick, easy and cheap payments at any time without going through a central authority. Based on a decentralized peer-to-peer network, and secured by strong cryptography, Dash offers a safe and user-friendly payment method without barriers. Dash is portable, inexpensive, divisible and fast digital cash for both the internet and everyday life.

Who invented Dash?

Based on the Bitcoin project, Dash was launched on January 18th, 2014, by founder Evan Duffield. The first few years of development saw Dash develop a focus on speed and fungibility, making it an excellent and practical alternative to cash, both online and at the point of sale in shops and restaurants.

Who controls Dash?

Much like email, Dash is an open protocol not under the control of any single entity. Anyone can write software to transact on the Dash network without requiring the permission of a central authority. Other than the minimal fees required to prevent spam attacks, there are no barriers to using Dash.

How Dash helps WisePass in this partnership?

With a market cap of 1 billion US dollars, Dash has achieved the liquidity that WisePass needed to feel confident to accept Dash as a form of payment. The second reason why WisePass has agreed to partner with Dash is its physical presence in Thailand with Sascha Jochum. The discussion went on how to drive up adoption across the region starting from Thailand and quickly across South East Asia.

What Dash helps WisePass to do is to increase the number of users on the platform and accelerate the flow of transactions necessary to create a network effect within the next 18 months. WisePass ended with 2,000 transactions in December 2018 and aims at 20,000 transactions monthly by the end of December 2019 and believes that Dash can contribute to that growth.

WisePass API lets people access anything available on WisePass with their token

Providing some real use case to the blockchain ecosystem is a mission that WisePass has taken seriously. We have decided to position ourselves as a digital bridge between the crypto economy and the real economy. By doing so we enable crypto holders to spend their tokens as fast and simple as any other form of payment. That shall be a significant contribution to increase adoption across the industry, says Lam Tran, CEO, and co-founder of WisePass.

How does it work?

The way it works is quite straightforward as there are only 2 steps.

First, the end user needs to type the email account she or he wants to top up on WisePass. Second, when the email is verified, the end user simply needs to confirm the transaction and pay with some Dash tokens. The transaction happens on the Dash app.

The end user will be able to get a one time PASS. That one-time PASS will enable the user to use WisePass once globally to any of its merchants.

Where can I use WisePass today?

WisePass can be used currently in 3 countries, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. There are currently 4 cities available, Bangkok, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, and Manila.

On April 2019, there are officially more than 300 active locations on WisePass and there should reach more than 1,000 active locations by December 31st, 2019.

WisePass shall expand across South East Asia within the next 18 months.

How much is a PASS and what can I get with a one-time PASS?

A one-time PASS will be priced 35$US. With a one-time PASS, you can get access to a wide range of services. WisePass can enable you to enjoy a set lunch or dinner, a drink at Starbucks, a movie ticket, a haircut, a bottle of wine or spirits, a night in a villa, a session in some fitness club, a chiropractor session and soon many more.

How does my one-time PASS work with WisePass?

After your successful top up, you would simply need to open the app and go to any of the venues you want to enjoy your one-time PASS and type on the Rewards section and tap on PASS.

After you tap on PASS, it will open a QR code scanner. You will then need to scan the QR code at the venue and enjoy the item you want to enjoy.

When can I start to use my Dash token with WisePass?

The first release will be on iOS on July 1st, 2019 and the Android version shall be on August 1st, 2019.

WisePass also has many other plans, when can I buy them with my Dash token?

That is correct, we will work on providing access to more plans with different pricing in late 2019. We will need to ensure that the first release of the API with Dash works smoothly before we move to add new plans.
