This past weekend, on Sunday, November 4, 2018, WisePass took part in a business forum in HCMC between French tech entrepreneurs working across Vietnam and French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe.

While traveling through Vietnam on a state-visit largely aimed at gathering support for business deals between the 2 nations, French Prime Minister put particular interest and importance towards the tech industry in the region. Vietnam represents one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia and provides tremendous potential for technological innovation and growth.

Showcasing French initiatives in the Vietnamese tech community, the forum held by French Tech Vietnam at Toong Coworking Space was a huge success. French Tech Vietnam chose WisePass as one of the most successful startups to show how innovation has been triggered by some of their own citizens in Vietnam.

WisePass CEO Lam Tran introduced Prime Minister Édouard Philippe to the world of WisePass and its tremendous potential in international markets — gaining widespread support and interest.

Lam Tran, a French-born citizen with Vietnamese roots, also referred to as Viet Kieu, came back to Vietnam 8 years ago and took on the risk and challenge of starting the first true global startup from Vietnam. A company with a valuation of 1 billion dollars, accessible in at least 15 countries around the world. This led to the creation of WisePass.

Just as French Prime Minister Édouard Philippe has highlighted with his visit, Vietnam demonstrated to Mr. Lam a well developed and affordable tech community with enormous potential.

Building a global startup from Vietnam is an immense feat to tackle however and has never been accomplished in history. WisePass though is no ordinary company and has universal application and interest.

WisePass first began in HCMC in 2016 as a bottle service app partnered with 6 bars around the city. It was popular and convenient but limited in its possibilities for growth.

Fast-forward to 2 years later and WisePass has transformed into an all-encompassing lifestyle app offering its users anything, anytime, anywhere. WisePass members can enjoy everything from VIP-event access and fine-dining to grooming services and Starbucks.

Well on its way towards unicorn status, WisePass has already made tremendous strides, including an exclusive partnership with Pernod Ricard Vietnam and opening its lifestyle service in both Thailand and the Philippines earlier this year. With this latest pitch to the French Prime Minister during his state-visit, it appears WisePass may be available in Europe sooner than expected!

WisePass is available on both iOS and Android. Download the app and try it for yourself.
