To greed or not to greed, that is the question

Okay, so the Bard didn’t quite put it that way.

But it is something we’re finding ourselves struggling with, and admittedly, asking for the community’s input is becoming increasingly attractive.

This being said:

  1. We might not get any, as it were. Hearing crickets is only good when one’s out on a balmy September night with a bouquet of roses in hand and a date of one’s dreams to point said crickets out to.
  2. Should said input actually materialize… are we ready to accept the verdict? Or will it be a case of “be careful what you wish for”?

But one only has to worry about #2 if they can dodge #1. So, fair warning. This little post is going out far and wide: here be dragons.

Diapers.com, Zappos.com, World Book Depository. Different industries, but a very similar fate brought about by similar tactics — by the same company. The same company that is now being feared to start undercutting grocery stores — with predictable results. After all, if one is selling at a loss, how long can a less wealthy opponent hold out?

With enough of a kitty stashed for a rainy day — and most importantly, with a big enough audience of loyal evangelizers which we hope to bring into the fold, we can sustain any war of attrition we may end up being faced with as we grow. And that’s where the WishKnish Token Sale comes in.

But to harken back to the Bard, we must beware of hubris, too.

In Ancient Greek and Shakespearean interpretations, hubris normally meant a lot of bad things for those that dared to exercise theirs. So, my question to the community — knowing our motivation (and we’re absolutely happy to elaborate on that / answer any questions / talk anyone’s ear off), what do YOU see as a reasonable soft cap for our crowdsale?

Our email, subreddit, Telegram, or even just right here works… Tell us your thoughts. (because just now, crickets are very much not our friend).
