You’re the Why, We’re the How

Wisio’s trademark 3-minute video messages enable creators and their fans to interact in a meaningful and efficient way. Today, we are delighted to introduce our new Mentorship Program, which gives creators everything they need to mentor their fans.

Why Mentoring?

We recently completed a successful pilot where we tested our platform and its technology, as well as the effectiveness of our trademark 3-minute video messages. We also spent countless hours speaking with thousands of influencers and their fans, as well as industry experts around the world. We discovered:

  1. Our video messages were a hit! Creators and fans found them an efficient, yet meaningful way to connect. (Efficiency was key because we’re all so busy).
  2. Fans want to learn — really learn — how to be the best version of themselves from their favorite creators.
  3. Creators want to help their fans and feel the impact they are making in people’s lives.
  4. Creators, as today’s tastemakers and experts, are actually mentors. They simply need a streamlined and structured way to reach and help their fans.

How Does Mentoring on Wisio Work?

Currently, fans can purchase a single question or request, and receive a 3-minute, unedited personalized video response from the creator of their choice. We’ve just unveiled our Mentorship Program by way of a new “Mentor Me” button on creators’ pages.

Now, a fan can tell a creator about his or her struggles, challenges, and goals, and the creator will respond, asking the fan to complete a task to help the fan progress. A fan would then respond with the results of their tasks, and the creator provides feedback, as well as a new task. The mentorship can continue as long as both sides desire.

The Mentorship Button in Action

Here’s the Nitty-Gritty

Wisio’s Mentorship Program was designed for busy people, creators and fans alike, who want to connect in a deep and meaningful way despite their time constraints. Mentorships are based around our trademark 3-minute video messages, so both creators and fans know what to expect. In order to make mentorships as effective and powerful as possible, creators determine the number of mentees they can take on, and set their prices independently.

Spreading the Word

Our research revealed that your fans are waiting to be mentored by you. Let them know you’re there for them. Ask them to let you help them on their personal journeys. Here are my recs for getting the word out:

  1. Create an Instagram story where you discuss how you can be there for them — be sure to let your fans swipe up to your Wisio profile for maximum results.
  2. YouTube videos are also a great way to tell your fans. Create a new video all about your mentorships, or mention them at the beginning or end of another video.
  3. Provide a link in all of your YouTube videos’ descriptions.
  4. Bonus: We highly recommend including a “get mentored by me” link in your bio — this is the simplest and fastest way to help mentees reach you.

Our Vision

We are so excited to unroll our new Mentorship Program, and would like to extend a huge thank you to our creators and their fans who have been instrumental in helping us reach this milestone.

This is just the beginning, and we are hard at work on a much more sophisticated interface. We are a startup and a data-driven one at that, so we are developing this new initiative purposefully and consciously. We are closely tracking how it’s being used so that we can continue designing it with our users’ needs in mind. We’re here to help every step of the journey, from creating tasks to handling payment, and would love to get your feedback.
