MAGA: Make American Guns Archaic
One thing the U.S. inarguably excels at is mass shootings.
Shootings are so common in the U.S. we don’t even name them or extensively report on all of them anymore. Whether children are targeted at school, faithful in their place of worship, or crowds at a concert, the key details are almost always the same: an entitled young angry white man with a history of warning signs and a personal arsenal murdered as many innocent people as he could in one fell swoop; politicians publicly wring their hands and act like the very laws of physics make gun control impossible; Second Amendment zealots trumpet the same talking points about the need to arm teachers, that the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, and that guns don’t kill people, people kill people.
The latest shooting to make the news and reanimate the gun control debate targeted both children and the religious.
