  1. Rebel of the Keys
Rebel of the Keys — dir. Mark Charles

Mark Charles’ study of the eccentric and fascinating Andre Tchaikowsky is a must-see at this year’s OCDF. Andre’s beautiful piano-playing in the background tied in with intimate stories from his loved ones make for a touching and captivating film.

2) Contemporary Color

Directing duo the Ross Bros plunge you into the energy and excitement of this extraordinary event staged by David Byrne. I was amazed at the skill of the Color Guard performers, their emotion and passion shining through.

3) Pump

Pump is a heartwarming and playful film documenting Joseph David and Andrew Kötting’s 7-day voyage across a disused monorail, with many amusing meetings along the way — not to be missed!

4) Photon

Through mesmerising CGI animations and 3D models, Norman Leto transports you across time and space in his thought-provoking essay about the history — and future — of the universe.

5) Linefork

With the magnificent music of a banjo legend throughout, Jeff Silva and Vic Rawlings’ observational film immerses you into the lives of Lee Sexton and his wife Opal — a heartfelt story of partnership, community and old age.
