Hi there,

This is the second of our comprehensive 3-part guide designed to help you make the most of the benefits available to you on Propel. The first part covered the account creation and login process and now, the second will explore our perk offerings and how you can take advantage of the discounts available to you.

Before we dive into the process of perk claims and redemption, it is important to understand what ‘perks and deals’ mean. In simple terms, perks are a suite of discounted products and services thoughtfully curated and accessible to every talent on Propel. These offerings are designed to cater to various aspects of your life including health and fitness, your lifestyle preferences, professional pursuits, productivity and work-related needs.

It is worth noting that perks are of 2 categories — global and location-specific. Global perks are available to everyone regardless of their geographical location while, location-specific perks are available only in select countries and cities.

Global perks on Propel include:

• Ace: An AI tool designed to assist job seekers refine their interview skills.
• DiagnoStar: Offering high-quality healthcare services and access to Electronic Medical Records[EMR].
• Jupita Academy & Treford: Providing learning experience and upskilling in tech through bootcamps, masterclasses and different forms of virtual trainings.
• MyTherapist: Affordable and confidential therapy services.

Some location-specific perks include:

• iFitness: For health and wellness. (Exclusively for Lagos & Abuja residents in Nigeria).
• Nairobi Garage: A co-working space (Accessible in 5 locations in Nairobi, Kenya — Kilamani, Westlands, Karen, CBD or Spring Valley).
• Civic Hive, The Nest, The Bulb & Hub One (Shared workspaces accessible to residents in Lagos, Nigeria).
• MyCoverGenius: Health, Gadget, Auto and Travel insurance services available only in Nigeria.
• Laah Photography: Offering professional headshots and pictures for people resident in Lagos, Nigeria.
• CafeOne: A conducive workstation available in Owerri, Ibadan & Lagos, Nigeria.
• Vectar Energy & Ekovolt: An alternative source of power and better internet connectivity, for residents in Lagos & Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
• MQR Spaces: A modern co-workspace in 2 Egyptian cities — October & Sheik.
• Kukun & Hapa Space: Affordable and top-notch workstations in Accra & Kumasi, Ghana.
• Mankis: Workstation available in Douala & Yaoundé, Cameroon.

When it comes to perks, there are 2 key actions involved — Claiming and Redeeming the desired perk.

Here’s how it works in 5 steps;

1. Login or Sign up to your Propel Dashboard
2. Go to Perks & Deals sidebar
3. Select perk
4. Claim your desired perk
5. Redeem perk

Here’s a step-by-step guide;

Step 1: Login to your dashboard

Login to your dashboard by either visiting the Propel community page or using the unique community link shared by your community lead. If you’re unsure about the login process, see a step-by-step guidance here.

Step 2: Perks & deals

From the menu on the left side of your dashboard, click on “Perks & Deals”.

Step 3: Select your desired perk

A perk list will be displayed. You can either scroll through the entire list or use the “Search all perks” button to find a specific perk. There’s also a “Categories” button for filtering by categories. For example- fitness, entertainment etc. Once you select a category only perks relevant to that category will be displayed.

Perks are time valid and so, expired perks will be highlighted in black with a note stating that the perk is no longer available.

Then, click on the “Claim perk” button to see details about the perk, including the discount, equivalent price and the perk tag. You can use the “See more” button to view additional information regarding the perk.

Step 4: Claim perk

Once you’re ready to claim the perk, click on the blue “claim perk” button. A pop-up message will confirm that all redemption information has been sent to your email.

Step 5: Redeem perk

Check your email inbox for a message from Propel. It will contain necessary details such as your coupon code, vendor’s address/location and the validity period. For physical perks, the details needed to redeem at the provider’s physical location will be sent to you. For virtual perks like insurance and courses, click the provided links and follow the prompts.

If you do not find a perk that interests you, there’s also the option to recommend a perk you want to see on Propel. All you need to do is click the “Recommend a perk” button on the right side of the perks menu, provide the necessary information and click “Submit”. You can recommend more than 1 perk per time.
