Covid 19 is a thief. All that it is capable of doing is taking away, stealing and destroying things that do not belong to it. For some, Covid has stolen their loved ones and for others Covid has stolen their school years. For me, Covid has stolen precious time that wasn’t for it to take. Time that could be spent with my friends and family. Time that I should have been able to experience the world as a high school senior and college freshman. This time is something that I am never going to be able to get back. It is so easy to be negative and angry at everything right now because of Covid. Maybe that is why the world always feels so tense and the air feels as if it’s filled with anger. I think we are all mad about not feeling in control and we also feel our fragility and our cluelessness about what is happening. Covid has taken so much and there are so many emotions surrounding and that is why it can be so complex.

Covid is a complicated problem that no one seems to have an answer too. There always seems to be more than one solution and so many different perspectives on how to handle the situation. It is so complex because we don’t have a clear direction. There are no blueprints or instructions on how to handle this pandemic. I used to think that adults were so smart and knew everything, but now growing up and living in a pandemic, I see how clueless everyone is. Another reason Covid is so complex is because it relies on the good of other people. We have to trust in each other, we have to depend on each other and we have to realize we are all in this together. This can be very scary because we all know that people are capable of evil. There is also pressure to find the answers to this complex problem because our future generations are relying on us. Their future will be impacted by how we handle this pandemic. Maybe in the future we will be able to see a bigger picture and the answers will be clearer. We will learn what we did right and what we failed to do.
