Witnet Monthly Report — December 2019
In the face of Christmas meals and New Decade celebrations, Witnet has made sure-and-steady steps towards Mainnet-readiness. Wishing you all a fantastic 2020— the year Witnet moves to Mainnet 😎!
🏗️ Development Update
RADON
- Research and design of new tally and aggregation scripts has been carried out, to help with the handling of errors during data requests.
- With the implementation of
RadError, data requests can now achieve error consensus. In other words, if the majority of nodes on a data request commit an error, then the request is discarded. This protects against malicious players and obsolete data sources. - RADON operator table has been updated, to further improve and facilitate the development process of RADON contracts.
Sheikah Interface
- Support for variables has now been added to Sheikah templates, giving data requestors access to easy customization and filtering options.
- Numerous RADON library updates have been made to prepare for integration into Sheikah.
- Initial marketplace design and research has been carried out, with the goal of making request templates shareable, accessible and user-friendly.
- The
<select>component has now been fixed on the request editor.
Witnet Testnet Update
- A bootstrapped version of Testnet 0.6.0 is now ready, with deployment of the Witnet Bridge Interface and the Block Relay imminent.
- A plan to incentivize nodes on the testnet before mainnet is being discussed and designed — look out for announcements across Witnet channels, and get in touch if you wish to contribute or participate!
Other
Witnet <> Ethereum Block Relay
- A voting mechanism for proposing blocks has been implemented.
- Proof of Concept approved for the implementation of key derivation.
Witnet Node
- Improvements made to
GetTransactionfunction. - QA and error testing carried out on various operating systems and through a variety of servers.
