The WiV Legacy Collection
There is something exciting just around the corner. It glimmers and glints in the light at the corner of your eyes. Enticing, full of promise. Is that a new shiny wine NFT I see?
At WiV Technology we are extremely excited to announce our most unique wine NFT collection yet.
This collection will be a huge upgrade on our previous offerings, with many different features both upon release, and in the pipeline, that include:
- A brand new enhanced NFT design (seen above)
- NFT wine badges for WiV NFT collectors
- The Digital Wine Cellar
- NFT Yield tracking
- and of course, Wine Loans via WIVX.
Overview:
The 2022 Legacy Collection will consist of 456 wine NFTs that we will be releasing weekly (to the tune of 8 per week), for our lucky collectors. $WIVA holders will get notified early about the weekly releases and will receive a comprehensive overview of the assets, giving holders all the insider knowledge you need to make the right purchase for you.
When: The First drop will be announced first to $WIVA holders sometime between November 30th and December 7th.
Where: The collection will be released on Opensea through Polygon. We have chosen Polygon because of its lightning-fast transactions and extremely cheap gas fees.

This new legacy collection is going to have many great features that we will unpack for you now. But first and foremost, it’s always worth remembering, when you buy a wine NFT with us. You truly are buying real wine stored in a bonded warehouse for your peace of mind. These NFT’s are backed by real-world assets and have true substance and value far beyond speculation.
So what do we have in store for you besides offering you great wine to invest in?
Regions:
The WiV Legacy Collection will include over 20 regions and 10 countries across the entire range. We are also excited to announce our first tokenized Whiskey and Port NFTs!
NFT Traits:
An exciting part of this new collection will be the metadata we have added to the NFTs. Each NFT will have specific unique traits that will determine its value and collectability. If someone collects a certain number of traits they will have the ability to redeem a collector badge (see below). These traits will include:
- Drop Type: Old World, New World, Special Drop
- Country: Perhaps you have your eyes on the France badge?
- Region: Or even the Burgundy badge?
- Grape: Who wants to be the King of Cabernet?
- Investment Grade: Gold, Silver, Bronze.
WiV NFT Collector Badges:
The WiV Wine Collector Badges are NFTs that provide our collectors with a distinction reward for their persistence and acquired collection. The badges will be a prestigious NFT certifying the collector as a reputable WiV community member. As well as a bastion of knowledge and expertise in their chosen specialisms. The badges will also allow holders to redeem physical accessories (pins, etc.) from our merchandise shop and will have future utility in our Sandbox metaverse game. You don’t need to join the guild of sommeliers anymore to get a lapel pin.
Different badge types:
WiV NFT Collector Badge: Own 1 NFT from each Drop Type as they get released.
WiV Certified Investor Badge: Collect 30 points worth of NFTs
- Gold assets = 5 points, Silver assets = 3 points, Bronze assets = 1 point
Regional Badges: Collect 10 NFTs from any region (each region has their own unique badges)
Country Badges: Collect 20 NFTs from a specific Country (each country has their own unique badges)
Grape Badges: Collect 10 NFTs from a specific grape type (each grape has their own unique badges)
The World Badge: Collect 1 NFT from 10 different countries
NFT Drops
Each week will be dropping 8 new NFTs with a specific theme behind the NFTs. $WIVA holders will get early access to the drop first through discord and everyone else will receive the notification 48 hours after.
WiV Wine NFTs:
So what exactly are WiV wine NFTs you ask? Well… WiV Technology was the first project to create NFTs that represent real world assets. Our wine NFTs represent ownership over cases of physical wine that are stored in a third party bonded warehouse. These physical wines are redeemable at a certain point but the purpose of the NFT is a more liquid form of the wine so that investors can trade, buy, sell, and receive loans on the best performing historic assets.
So what can I do with my wine NFT?
WiV Technology is building the WIVA ecosystem for wine as a digital asset. Soon to be released will be the Digital Wine Cellar where you can sync your wallet and measure your wine portfolio, redeem your wines, take out a loan against your wine, earn a yield on your wine NFT, and watch your wealth grow through dynamic charts and price representations. (Read more here) Additionally, the WIVX protocol will create a reserve currency backed by wine for investors interested in getting passive exposure to wine investments. This protocol will also accept wine NFTs collateral, providing a yield to investors, and release loans for wine NFT owners who want to increase their wine returns in defi, stake tokens for WIVA yield, or off ramp their wine for fiat currency.
The WIVA ecosystem along with this new legacy collection brings the world of wine to DeFi and unleashes the power of the world’s oldest and strongest investment asset. It creates fun incentives to collect your favorite wines in a safe, immutable environment. It gives you the chance to deepen your knowledge of wine and wine investment. And most importantly it gives you the chance to collect, and earn from one of the oldest and most stable luxury commodities. What more could we possibly want?
