U.I was likewise the only Nigerian University to make the new list.
Earlier in the year, the Center for World Universities Ranking (CWUR) — a top ranking organization of World Universities released a list of the top 1000 world universities and no Nigerian University was on the list, citing lack of quality research as the reason for not making the cut.
Academic Ranking of World Universities (AWRU), another top ranking organization of World Universities, released their own list of the top 500 world universities, with no Nigerian University on their list.
