5 Countries to Visit After High School

Most teenagers still don’t know what they want to do after they graduate. Or maybe you’re not a student- maybe you’re just an exhausted human being in need of a good vacation instead. Well, here is a list of exciting places that you can go to for a good price.

1. Indonesia

One destination that you can travel to is the Republic of Indonesia with its population reaching 225 million people with over 17,000 islands.

The exciting activities vary from sunbathing or surfing on one of their many beautiful beaches. Go to the Gili Islands to get away from it all and swim in their bright blue water.

On the Gili Islands, there are no cars. When in need of transportation, people in Indonesia walk or use bicycles.

Beaches not really your cup of tea? Instead, there are different cities and malls. Check out Ubud and walk down the brightly colored streets or shop in Jakarta.

2. India

Another country you should visit in India. There are many different places to see when traveling here.

In the picture to the right, you can come and see the Taj Mahal. It took over 20,000 people to build in 1632.

More places include The Holy City of Versani, The Golden City of Jaisalmer, and Mumbai.

3. Ukraine

Ukraine is a unique country that you wouldn’t normally think about visiting. In Klevan, Ukraine, they have a Tunnel of Love. Rumor has it that couples who visit will be granted a wish.

Another cool place that you can go to is the Roshen Fountain. It is a fountain that gets its source from a river that uses LED lights.

Can’t stand love and would rather see the weirdest stuff? They have things for you too. Come to Kyiv and see the Toilet History Museum. They even have toilets that date back to 5,000 years ago.

Greece is well known for the Acropolis in Athens, but that is not the only thing that they have in Greece.

You can hike one of the most famous mountains in the world- Mount Olympus. Mount Olympus is known for when Zeus sat on the throne and where Hades ruled the Underworld.

You can also go to Melissani Cave. It is an underground river that was founded in 1951. Although you cannot swim in the cave, you can ride in a boat and gaze at the extraordinary blue water.

If exercise or hiking isn’t your thing, you can admire the beautiful angelic architecture of Santorini. Just gazing at how the sunset beams on the creamy-white buildings.

5. Columbia

The fifth country you should visit in Columbia. If you travel to Bogota, you can stroll down the sidewalk and look at the murals on the walls. The art varies from colorful patterns and flowers to animals and space rats.

Do you like coffee? You can get a hands-on tour of a coffee farm when you come to visit. The coffee farm is family owned and is just outside of Bogota.

If you enjoy dancing and singing, you should visit during February or March and celebrate Barranquilla Carnival. It starts the Saturday before Ash Wednesday. The carnival is festive as it lasts two days filled with cumbia, salsa, samba, and more music.
