Holly Liu ● 2018 Technology Entrepreneurship Abie Award Winner

Holly is the co-founder of the mobile gaming company, Kabam, and currently serves as the non-executive director and strategic advisor to Animoca’s board of directors. As an entrepreneur and VC, Holly’s latest project has been developing a newsletter for entrepreneurs as they attune to fundraising fundamentals, team building, and product-market fit. Holly’s understanding of building a company with limited resources prepared her well to support others along their entrepreneurship journeys.

During a time where the ability to build anew and think innovatively is paramount to the success of businesses, Holly believes that opportunity is everywhere. The changing landscape of tech forecasts a future where remote work is commonplace and workers no longer have geographical restraints. Holly believes that tech is the solution to solving the current pandemic and to creating more inclusion in the field.

“Crisis brings opportunity. The opportunity to rebuild is great! It’s as if a slate has been wiped and you can re-imagine a new world because of COVID.”

Her first time attending Grace Hopper Celebration was in 2018, where she was honored as the Technology Entrepreneurship Abie Award winner. This was an inflection point providing her the opportunity to convene with 20,000 other women technologists.

“It was probably one of the first times I felt truly free/safe being a woman in tech. It was such an unforgettable feeling and a feeling I want other women to have.”

Holly continues on her journey to launch others through a new project helping Mozilla builders set up their incubators which in turn make significant improvements to the world wide web.
