In February of 2019, Sanjita Pamidimukkala and Gargi Nigam founded a non-profit that would just one year later, play a role in providing elementary school children with the technology access needed to continue their education during COVID-19. ⁣

Determined to bring access and equity to other students, the two founders, alongside a team of 30 students around the Bay area and St. Louis, forged relationships with corporate partners (vsco, Instagram, and Starbucks) to garner support for their mission of increasing access for low socioeconomic families by providing technology installation and workshop delivery.⁣

With a goal of ensuring that children from all economic backgrounds can experience the power of technology, Connect&Compute is in the process of expanding their chapter reach during the pandemic. While shelter in place orders have placed a hold on their regularly scheduled workshops, Connect and Compute is banding together even more tightly, re-defining their strategy and furthering their reach for those they serve. ⁣

“This experience has taught us that our fight for equality and opportunity does not end during difficult times. If anything, it is times like this that reignite our cause and remind us why organization’s like ours that advocate for those who lack the ability to do so themselves are so important.” Today we celebrate Sanjita, Gargi and all of the amazing #techleaders using their talent and passion to support their community during this uncertain time. If you or someone you know has a story of resilience, generosity or coming together during COVID-19, tell us here!
