Campaign signs are a vital part of electioneering across the University of Nevada, Reno. Wooden sandwich boards pop up in February and last until elections in March for ASUN positions from President and Vice President, to elected officials from all of the colleges. See the full list below for more information on the upcoming elections.

Wolf Pack What | VR wanted to know what the regulations were with the signs, and why so many of them were painted versus printed.

We spoke to ASUN Elections Commission Chair Steven McNeece t0 understand more.

“Each candidate is allowed a budget they can spend towards their signs,” McNeece said. He went on to say that some rules when the comes to putting up these signs include not damaging property on campus.

In order to understand the creative process we also spoke to David Crocket, the designer behind the Crupi/Jackson campaign.

“They approached me one day before the campaign started and said, ‘hey, want to do some graphic designs for the campaign’ and I was like, sure,” said Crocket. He traced his design onto the wooden board and painted in the colors.

He told us that printing the signs is completely acceptable, but not ideal for enduring the outdoor weather elements.
