INTRODUCTION

Anna : Hi everyone! My name is Anna Norrevik and I’m the CEO of Antler Interactive, which is the studio behind My Neighbor Alice.

Antler Interactive was founded in 2016 and we are an interactive game studio based in Stockholm, Sweden. Conceived from and previously known as SVRVIVE Studios, a pioneer in VR with globally best selling and award-winning titles. Antler Interactive is a revival of our passion for immersive experiences and a transition into a focus on mobile tech and games.

Since 2016 we have released six game titles, including both VR and AR technology. We have always loved experimenting with new tech and in 2018 we started looking into what we could do with blockchain.

Lenny : Hi all! My name is Lenny Pettersson and the CMO of Antler Interactive. I have 15+ years of experience within the media & gaming industry. Before Antler I worked 8 years as Senior Marketing Manager for the Nordic & Baltic region at Turner a WarnerMedia company. Vast experience in launching original IPs (such as Adventure Time, Ben 10 and Powerpuff Girls) for Cartoon Network.

Anastasia : My name is Anastasia. And I am working with Marketing together with the Antler Interactive team. My background: I have an MA in Business and Marketing. Ex-professional athlete and gamer. 😊 I am working closely with blockchain, crypto, and gaming and have vast experience in these fields.

Anna : My Neighbor Alice is our biggest project so far and we are super happy to talk more about it today. In short it’s a creative, social multiplayer builder game with inspiration from Animal Crossing.

Wolf : Good To Hear… For our members who are not already familiar with the project, can you give us a very high-level overview of what My Neighbor Alice is and what competitive edge it brings to the Crypto Universe?

Anna : The competitive edge that MNA brings is, compared to other blockchain games, a target group of players who are not already familiar with blockchain.

We aim for the big mass of players that enjoy games like Animal Crossing, Minecraft etc and we offer them a way of getting their time, creativity and effort monetized in the end.

The game is also unique in its visual identity, focusing on cuteness, creativity and fun rather than the blockchain aspects of the game.

Wolf : Great 👍👌👍… How do holders of the My Neighbor Alice Token benefit in the ecosystem? What power within your model do individuals hold? Why is it so attractive and what are the basic requirements to participate?

Anastasia : The game is designed in a way to allow players to “own the game” by exercising power over the platform. Players also enjoy the democratic governance model based on liquid democracy and real-world inspiration rules over a DAO. The ALICE token is the native currency in the game, as well as mirrored as an ERC20 token. It allows token holders to play, invest and also be part of the game.

Wolf : Have you met all your goals in the roadmap till now? And were there any difficulties that you didn’t expect and were not prepared for?

Anna : We started developing My Neighbor Alice in 2020 and have so far created an early prototype available for the early token holders. This has been according to plan. There have been no big difficulties so far, but we have a lot of things to create ahead of us and are working hard to get things done according to our future roadmap. Corona hasn’t really affected the project in itself since the studio had already been working from home since March 2020, and MNA started after that. As a fact we have had a lot of unexpectedly good things happening to the project: Lots of people, investors and partners in crypto who have shown a lot of interest in the project. And lots of eople signing up on our early test campaigns.

Wolf : You deserve big appreciation 💓… Did you find any threats till yet like smartcontract failures.When we think about mass adoption,security should be our first priority.

Anastasia : It is not clear what safety & security means here, of course nothing can ever be secure enough, we can although compare ourselves with the direct competitors.

Originals is Chromia (https://chromia.com/)'s non fungible asset protocol, it allows to decentralize complex logic and information (such as values).

This means that your non fungible assets (what in Ethereum are known as NFTs) are much more decentralized than other blockchains, this translates into shifting the control over these assets from us (the game developers) towards the users.

The bottom line is that you have more freedom to use the assets and — should the company ever fail — you’ll be able to play the whole game with your assets on blockchain forever.
Should we get hacked, this would not change much for the users.

The process of full decentralization will be progressive (and probably slow) but the whole point is to transfer the ownership to the community that will be able to take more and more decisions autonomously in DAO like fashion (atm called Chromunity (https://testnet.chromunity.com/))

Wolf : Amazing 👏… Can you please give us a short tutorial on how even a nontech guy can easily use and enjoy your platform?

Lenny : Great question. Players will be onboarded by an intuitive tutorial. For new users we want to make sure it’s as seamless as possible to start playing the game. One feature we have is the “Creative Mode” in order for people to try the game’s mechanics without having to buy a plot etc. And of course all new users will get a warm welcome by Alice herself and will help onboard new players with fun quests to complete which will let them find out more about the game

Q1. In your whitepaper you mention that you expect the largest number of users to be from the USA, Europe and East Asia, have you taken into account the large market in Latin America? If so, do you have a strategy in mind to cover this large market?

Lenny : Our initial focus is on these markets but Latin America is of great interest too and is part of our long term ambition. As with our current markets listed in the whitepaper it´s important to find and work with strong local partners when entering a new market to be successful. Stay tuned for more news:).

Q2. I noticed how beautiful your artwork for the game and every each of you is, it definitely is a strong point to get people’s attention. Who is behind it? What’s the backstory of its creation and style? What inspired this style of art for MNA?

Anna : Hi The Raccoon, happy to hear you appreciate our beautiful art work! The person who came up with the idea of MNA was our Art Director Oliwer Svensson, so naturally he has set a high bar for the quality of the art we make. For some of our pictures we have gotten help from the Canadian freelancer Miji, which we have been very happy about.

The Scandinavian motif inspired the architecture and landscape of the game, for example it has taken some inspiration from the well-known Swedish book/game “Pettson och Findus”.

Q3. What innovations has $ALICE brought to the DEFI space? How is $ALICE changing the new DeFi ecosystem and what are the plans for the next few years?

Anastasia : Designing a game for regular steam users and polish the blockchain onboarding, we think will attract more people who are not familiar with the technology. We imagine a lot of players to be part of the ecosystem in the near future, and the result of that will definitely increase the value of owning ALICE tokens early.

The name is inspired by “My Neighbor Totoro”. It’s the cuteness, and also the “lovability” of having a neighbor. Someone you look up to and that is always friendly. Alice is like that in many ways. She will help you with a lot of duties in the game.

Q4. Is the First time that I know that a Crypto Game is gonna be released on STEAM, so can you give a date? Also the Game Will be free or Will be needed to pay to play.

Anna : Hi Sjje Jj, it is correct that it’s gonna be released on Steam and the reason is that we know there are already a lot of gamers on the platform. We already have an early prototype version on Steam but we’re looking forward to inviting more people when we’re ready for an Early Access version for summer 2021. Can’t give a date more exact than that.

The game will be free to play, so no need of investing unless you feel you what extra flavor in the game. Hope you’ll like the game and play it when it’s out!

Q6. As We know MyNeighborAlice will run on Chromia blockchain in future. What are the benefits you have seen on Chromia blockchain over other blockchains?

Anastasia : From technological standpoint. The first and most important layer to this project is the backend infrastructure. The project was created on the fundamental idea that it will deploy the Chromia platform as a layer 2 solution. Chromia is well-known for its innovative relational blockchain technology and RELL, a programming language. The backend is a postchain database that is used in conjunction with unity to operate accounts, token transfers, relational data and user progress, among many other things. It’s meant to follow the development of cross chain playability and interaction with NFTs. The second layer to the project is the unity development. The largest part is the procedural building system. It’s essential that it is fun, feels great and is on par with other building games on the market. Second biggest is the focus on gameplay loops and daily activities with player retention in consideration. We also work on connecting the backend with frontend, login-registration edge cases, and multiplayer scalability & stability. The third area in the project is the economic infrastructure. “Property/Plot” auctioning, asset trading, token transactions.

It is important to note that the blockchain infrastructure is “hidden” for players who are not interested in the underlying technology. We want to attract regular players who want to enjoy the gameplay experience. But for those interested in diving deeper into the game, there is a space for blockchain enthusiasts as well.

Q7. You have meant to have My Neighbor Alice available for anyone to play without requirements for wallets or developing skills on the blockchains. How is it different from traditional games then?

Lenny : It´s true that My Neighbor Alice is primarily targeting non-crypto users, who can get easily onboarded from regular platforms, such as Steam and other major platforms. Despite its blockchain characteristics and in-game DeFi elements, only players will decide on how much they want to be involved in the game’s decentralised features and DeFi and thus keep blockchain as an optional functionality. This way we believe we can onboard a much bigger audience to the blockchain/crypto features than seen before and that´s what makes My Neighbor Alice stands out from both traditional games and many of the current blockchain games.

Q8. As I know a strong community is very important for every project. Do you plan to be a local or global project? What strategy will be used to expand the community?

Lenny : We aim to be “glocal”, global reach with the support and strength of local partners. Just as we´ve done in several markets in for example South East Asia.

Q9. What can we expect to see from this project in the short-term (at some point in 2021) and 2022 and beyond (long-term goals)?

Anna : Hi Kim AI, short term goals are to continue to develop on the social aspects of the game (multiplayer features), listening in the token holders’ feedback on the early prototype, as well as to spread the word around the project. In summer of 2021 we will release a more available Early Access version.

Our long term goal with the project is to introduce blockchain to millions of players. As well as creating a DAO ; ALICE token holders will be invited to join the Decentralized Autonomous Organization called the Community Council. Players get to vote on important game proposals and issues, additional functionality, new NFTs and approving NFTs created by users with the help of an NFT creator.

Q10. Do we need to buy the game on Steam?

Anastasia : We´re developing the game in Unity and will initially distribute it on PC via Steam but we´re looking at other platforms as well, mobile of course being one of them, as we want the game to be as accessible to as many players as possible. We also have a plan for bringing content partners onboard which is not limited to the gaming industry only, it could be any brand or strong IP that we see have a good fit with My Neighbor Alice and adds value to the community..
