Wolfpack Digital August [19] Wrap-Up: No Heat Can Stop Us
In Romania, August is that time of the year when the sun tests people’s patience to stay in the concrete jungle. Still, no heat could stop us from building ideas of entrepreneurs into powerful apps and from writing articles, planning events and chilling in the meantime.
Architecting Mobile Apps Meetup
The temperature was high and so was the temptation to go on vacation. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant surprise to see so many local developers attending our Architecting Mobile Apps Meetup. On the evening of July 31st [that’s almost August and, to be frank, the after-party continued well after dark], two of our development specialists, Dan and Victor, gave away their know-how on evaluating, scaling and architecting mobile apps.
Good examples and best practices made many technical questions popup in the room. Be sure none of them was left unclarified. Moreover, they sparkled fruitful discussions afterward.
There are three things you can watch forever: fire burning, water falling and the local mobile app community growing while networking in our backyard.
The Wolves of Wall Street
We made it to New York this month. Our CEO, Georgina Lupu Florian, and our CTO, Adrian Florian, had a great time discovering the US entrepreneurship ecosystem. They started the mission by attending the Content Creators and Entrepreneurs Networking meetup. It was formatted into a gamified dialogue to skip the small talk and dive into more insightful discussions.
We, at Wolfpack Digital, always aim to level up our relationships with clients. While in New York, it was so nice to meet the guys from Ideacracy, this time with no Internet connection issues but with a good beer instead.
In October, Richard Kim and Ray Liang are about to launch the Social Media Platform we’ve built together. Become the first user to discuss the world’s biggest problems on Ideacracy, while having the opportunity to check out the work of our developers and designers.
Our Article on GraphQL with Ruby on Rails and Nuxt.js — Part 1
Innovation relates also to using the same technologies in a different way. Our Head of Web Development, Florin Ionce, tested an original way to connect an API in Ruby on Rails. Hope you find this step-by-step explanation useful, together with the documentation and the full code on Github. It’s all included in the article.
Keep an eye on us for the second part of the article!
Juicy Knowledge at 2 Mango Moments
Our team is a huge treasure of knowledge we keep exploring. The way we explore it is Mango Moments, the internal mini-conference where any wolf can take over the stage to share insights. This August we had two of them.
Firstly, Florin, our Head of Web Development, talked about our freedom and power of taking the initiative. The main takeaway was:
“With great power comes great responsibility.”
After two weeks, Cri presented the best practices of efficient communication based on her experience as Project Manager at Wolfpack Digital. She made us aware of the handy ways of saving the time and energy of all the parties involved in a collaboration.
Meet the Eco-Friendly Wolves
First things first. Besides pushing the technology to make human life easier, we focus on taking care of our roots. We went green a while ago by encouraging recycling. And honestly, writing code is even more fun, if you are protecting nature in the meantime. As a bonus, in August we strengthened our collaboration with WeRecycle, who help us in our effort to offer a sustainable environment.
Surprise Birthday Party for Our CEO
It was a sweet month for Wolfpack Digital. Up until now, we had no idea that so many of our wolves are born in August. Among them is our Chief-She Wolf, Georgina Lupu Florian. Year by year, 365 days in a row, she is the one who gives us motivation and trust to innovate starting from the ideas our clients’ dream of.
We tried to give her back that energy by offering a power shot of things she appreciates and enjoys. What and How? Discover it yourself in the article below and get to know our CEO better.
With the end of this Wrap-Up comes the end of Summer. These were three incredible months of coding and hustling that passed ultra fast. We saved a lot of energy for rainy days too. See you next month for another fruitful Wrap-Up!
