Wolfpack Digital October [19] Wrap-Up: Spooky Autumn Busyness. Or Business?
This October was crazy busy at the #WolfDen with some fantastic news regarding industry achievements for the Wolfpack, loads of new projects, and a fair share of intense activity getting us closer to important launches. In the meanwhile, our team found the time to focus on learning, socializing, giving back to the community, and finding ways to unwind, as the colourful leaves started dropping from trees. Here is what we did last month!
Photo Shooting
Every few months, your favourite wolves get brand new mugshots. This month we were joined by our favourite photographer, Luciana Varga, who has her own special way of making us show our (friendly) teeth. Besides shooting wonderful portraits, she also went into “paparazzo” mode and captured the essence of our working atmosphere.
Learning and Conferencing Time
FrenchKit in Paris
Our lovely colleague, iOS Developer Bianca, went to Paris for the FrenchKit conference, to get up to speed with both state-of-the art knowledge on mobile development, and where to find the fluffiest butter croissants 🥐 in the French capital of tech for the week. Bianca shared her new insights with the mobile development team upon her return, and we surely had a lot to learn from her!
TechIT in Cluj
Victor, our beloved Android and Ruby on Rails Developer, who is also part of the Cluj Startups initiative, went to the local TechIT conference to boost his knowledge on AI and digital products, and came back to the office to share his wisdom.
🥭 Mango Moments 🥭
The internal mini-conference tradition continued this month with two talks focused around mindfulness, and, respectively, what’s new in our company in terms of projects and apps overview. No worries, every speaker got their mango fruit at the end!
The Importance of the “Pack” — Community Contributions
Hacktoberfest
We couldn’t possibly miss enrolling in this global initiative so we opened our doors to everyone for a good old Hacktoberfest evening session. This is our 4th consecutive Hacktoberfest edition. The movement encourages the open-source community to contribute as much as possible to open-source repos during the month of October, and promises swags for the ones contributing with at least 5 commits. We also rewarded these courageous and generous spirits with pizza 🍕, and we had a blast!
Hosting JSHeroes
The local JSHeroes community is simply wonderful and, once in a while, we consider ourselves lucky to have them share their knowledge at our office. This time, they had a workshop on TypeScript — Get Safe or Die Tryin’. Dramatic as it may seem, the workshop was highly informative and attracted a larger audience than expected.

🎂 October Birthdays, Including Our CTO’s Birthday
In October, we had many birthdays to celebrate, with Dragos, Sasha, Robi and Gabi M. being our celebrated guests at their own surprise parties.
A special happy birthday goes to our beloved CTO, Adrian Florian, who tirelessly drives our motivation and passion for tech every day! He surely deserves that raw-vegan chocolate-orange cake! Thank you, Adrian, for making life at Wolfpack Digital so much greater through that tremendous energy of yours! 🍾
1 Year of Yellow Day 💛
It’s been one year since we started our “Yellow Tuesday” weekly event, and it all started from the coincidence of having 3 of our colleagues wear yellow on a random Tuesday, as they sat on our yellow couch. Yes, yellow is also one of our branding colours, so it all soon became a funny tradition where almost everyone wears yellow on Tuesday, be it hot or cold.
When Betty came to the office for a front-end developer role interview wearing yellow on a Tuesday, we just knew she’s the right one!
Whenever there’s a client visiting us on a Tuesday, well…we don’t want to know what they’re thinking.
🎃 Spooky Standup, Halloween Party and Pumpkin Carving Workshop
Every year on October 31st we show our true spooky colours in a special Spooky Standup edition. Questions we answer to are:

- Is the sprint bloody? Are you going to “kill” it? ☠️
- Any nice trick-or-treat candy or achievements you want to brag about? 🍬

We ended the day and the month in good fun, by engaging in a pumpkin carving workshop.
Goodies from Australia 🍫
Straight from the land of kangaroos, we received some well-deserved Australian goodies from one of our favourite customers yet, to celebrate the ending with great results of the first phase in our collaboration. We surely look forward to our next Australian-spiced adventures.
