WOM Protocol Development Update: March 2021
Our developers have been speeding through the first quarter of 2021 and here we are in March with more than +95,000 new lines of code, -55,215 refactored lines, and a fully functional new brands and products system, more on which has been outlined below, though the full details will be announced in the coming weeks.
Aside from this, we’ve been refining the user experience across both the YEAY and WOM Authenticator apps, adding multiple new notifications, as well as tightening the security.
The following provides a detailed overview of the WOM and YEAY changelog from December 2020 to March 2021 and, as usual, since the development of WOM and YEAY are so dependent on one another, we’ll share the progress of both projects:

Products and brands system
We implemented the WOM Campaign Manager to give brands a tool for accessing authentic user-generated recommendations about their products. The system automatically recognises and unifies identical products, irrespective of their different backend systems. Brands can then browse through the full catalogue of content available about their products, selecting, boosting and measuring the exposure of these WOM-authenticated videos on the YEAY platform. The tool also offers further capabilities for recording and displaying recommendations directly on ecommerce sites.
Faster deposit process
We also implemented the ERC20 EIP-2612 Permit function on the WOM Token contract. This enables us to speed up the deposit process and saves on GAS fees by halving the amount of transactions that need to be made each time a deposit lands.
