The W o m a n Manifesto
Because the best of who we are, we are already
… & so we storytell it like it is.
Problem we’re solving
Like people in general, most women hold back what’s real — their experiences, opinions, & dreams. Yet it’s those things, those stories that are the most palpable, real, & raw.
They’re the substance of life… & a definition of femininity that’s missing from the world.
W o m a n believes the best of who we are, we are already.
We also strongly believe the conversation needs more input from more guys.
And so, we introduce you to our…
Approach
W o m a n is the place that celebrates who women are already. The editorial team & community actively appreciate every story that’s shared in 4 ways:
- W o m a n embeds a video in every submission that summarizes what we love about it — because there’s something to love about every woman’s story.
- W o m a n comments on every story — because every woman deserves acknowledgement & the support of a community.
- W o m a n shares a link to at least one other Medium post that discusses similar topics, or has a similar approach to authenticity — for the same “because” described in #2.
- W o m a n offers anonymous publishing — for those who still fear having their stories associated with their names!

W o m a n’s Target Audience
Any woman who’s ever held back information & wants to live a fuller life — or any man who wants to help frame-shift how women are perceived.
W o m a n’s authors are feminists, men & women. It boils down to being a decent human being & believing both genders are equal. Our goal is to have a 50/50 split.
Subtitles indicate author’s gender, age, relationship status, location, industry, race, sexual orientation — to underscore how similar all humans are. Images augment values of courage, vision, and palpable vulnerability.
For example, “Something I’ve Never Shared: By a single Caucasian woman in food-tech, age 26, straight, living in Austin, TX).” And this…
Guiding Principles
We believe in women coming into their own, their own way.
We also believe in the power of storytelling. Say, think or digest a narrative often enough, and it becomes part of your subconscious — for good & bad.
We know the words we use and the people we say them to, shape our perception & reality. So we storytell it like it is to up-level the world.
