Community Connect /w Chainmonsters — Episode 3
This time on Community Connect, we talked a lot about the new Tapmonsters Telegram spin-off, as well as how it ties into the main game, supplying new players, content access and perks. We also took a lot of questions from the audience about both games. You can watch the full broadcast here.
Tapmonsters as a gateway to Chainmonsters
Tapmonsters, on the very surface, is a great expansion of the main game’s lore. Chainmonsters gives you one perspective, whereas in Tapmonsters, you can play as part of the ‘antagonist’ faction of N-Corp — and see the game’s world through their eyes.
Besides that, Tapmonsters, to us, is a great foundation for expanding the game’s community and marketing it through ‘lite’ exposure to the game’s lore, the assets, and so on. We’re seeing it growing steadily and are looking forward to welcoming all these people to Chainmonsters once the Gen1 version goes live.
We are getting the feeling of the community and the market right now to see if Tapmonsters will carry on as a standalone experience past the Chainmonsters Gen1 release. We are getting a lot of positive feedback on the game, so it is a possibility.
Handling legacy assets
We are convinced that the migration is needed — and we are planning to handle it similarly to the first move from Flow to ImmutableX. In that sense, we see it as an opportunity to connect the NFTs better through enhancement because a lot of those are now tied to particular events or actions within the ecosystem without a lot of synergies between them.
We will honor the existing holders but we will make the assets more interconnected in the Gen1 version of Chainmonsters and moving forward.
Land is also very much part of the core gameplay experience. We are even aiming to elevate it to a central piece of Chainmonsters, so they’re supposed to feel even rarer and more precious than before.
The upcoming $MONSTER token airdrop
Tapmonsters is only one avenue for you to get hands on these tokens. Even the solo leaderboard within the game right now is not the only way to succeed in the airdrop event, as we are working on team-based rankings and more multiplayer mechanics to make it more engaging.
Roadmap for Tapmonsters
We are highly attuned to the community’s feedback, and in general, we want everybody to have fun. The multiplayer features are one thing on the roadmap, as well as general UX/UI improvements, more social tasks, daily tasks, Chainmon evolutions, Battles and other exciting tweaks and new content.
