Hey Wombat Family!

The cat is out of the bag — not only does Polygon come to Dungeon Master, but we are also doing a drop of our own Polygon NFTs.

Commemorating different evolution steps of gaming, the Frontier Shards signify the important milestones we all, both creators and players, have conquered over the years. At the same time, they open up a glimpse into the future — a new Frontier that we, as a team, want to explore together with you.

Why Polygon?

With our strong roots in the EOS and WAX space, you may be asking yourself — why are they doing that, exactly? Well, we have several reasons for that move.

While we may be known for our lowkey demeanor, we are not the kind of a company that rests comfortably in what they do well. We strive to expand and challenge ourselves — and with our token running on Polygon already, that made a lot of sense.

There is also the question of co-creation. We do not want to stop doing collabs with WAX collections — but also, seeing how rapidly the gaming space develops on Polygon, we want to bring more of that content to Wombat. And of course, Polygon being the EVM chain, it gives us a solid base for expanding into BNB Chain, Avalanche, Ethereum and so on. There are many amazing games and collectible projects running on these networks and we want to collaborate with as many as we can!

How does it differ from EOS/WAX?

Because Polygon is an EVM chain, the process here is somewhat different. For starters, you will need to approve the collections you want to stake in a separate transaction before you stake the NFTs.

Then of course there is the matter of gas. For the transactions, you will need to pay a fraction of MATIC to get those processed. Pro tip: if you want to always have some MATIC set aside for this, change your weekly payout option in the Wombucks Palace to MATIC 😉

How are they going to work?

Other than intrinsic differences coming from the blockchain, for you as Dungeon Master players the process will feel very familiar. The Frontier Shards will have mining power, and you will get an additional 100 slots set for your Polygon NFTs. The unstaking period is also going to be 24 hours.

For the time being, we will be releasing only two rarities: common and rare. Common Shards have an MP of 350, while the rare ones get an MP of 1000.

Polygon staking in Dungeon Master supports both ERC -721 and ERC-1155 NFT standards. Of course, you won’t have to rely on our collection alone there. Many beloved projects on Polygon courteously supported this launch, including Planet IX, Blockchain Cuties, Cometh, Betsy (NeftyBlocks) and others to follow suit soon.

How to get the Frontier Shards?

The Frontier Shards drop today at 12:00 CET. And this time, you will be able to buy the NFTs using both crypto and your credit card! Don’t forget — since it’s a Polygon drop, you will need MATIC for purchasing Shards with crypto.

There is one Shard that won’t be out on the market at first though. For every set of 24 unique Shard variations you purchase from the drop before June 15th, 12:00 CET, you will get a special limited edition Mega Share with a superior mining power of 5000. These NFTs will be distributed on June 16th.

We will, naturally, give away some of the Shards as prizes in our birthday contest and during the streams — so stay tuned on that!
