$WOMBAT token is coming soon!
With the token introduced to the ecosystem, players will get more agency and tangibility in their rewards.
The gaming industry has shown unprecedented growth over the last decade. Today, over 3 billion people consider themselves gamers, nearing half the world’s population. After such a boom, it comes as no surprise that the industry focuses on improving the experience for everyone, casual and hardcore gamers alike. For us, a natural step in that direction is complete and secure asset ownership by players, and blockchain is the best solution for this. Therefore, after opening up the Web 3 gaming world to over 2.5 million gamers worldwide, we’re ready to give the ‘ownership’ a new meaning for them.
Over the past three years, the question we got the most has been ‘Does Wombat have a token?’ in all its variations. And while it’s very common for a blockchain gaming company to have a utility token, we never wanted to launch a token before we offer tangible utility to a healthy community. But the ideas, the plans and the visions for it never left us.
After months of rigorous work, today, we are happy to finally confirm that we’ll be releasing $WOMBAT — a multi-chain utility token within our ecosystem. Through this token, we intend to empower our community and create a more sustainable and rewarding constellation of products and services we provide. The token is planned to go live in the second half of 2022.
Gamers will be able to use $WOMBAT to boost their rewards, get access to exclusive NFTs and challenges, get free transaction resources and many other perks. Later, $WOMBAT token holders will be able to influence decisions within the $WOMBAT ecosystem, like stakeable NFT collections or game listing priorities. Overall, we wish to become much more inclusive and collaborative to our community.
Technical details
The token will be minted on the Ethereum mainnet, with a bridge to Polygon to secure faster transactions and lower fees for you. We’re also looking into secure and efficient solutions to bridge $WOMBAT onto the WAX and EOS blockchains. The total fixed supply of the token is established at 10 billion.
As the token smart contract is pending additional audit, we cannot disclose it yet. This announcement will be updated once the audit is concluded.
Community benefits & governance
$WOMBAT token holders will be entitled to discounted prices on products and services provided within our ecosystem. Spending or staking certain amounts of $WOMBAT tokens will also entitle users to holding a VIP status on Womplay. VIP statuses will have several tiers, with ranging advantages as follows:

Apart from that, $WOMBAT token holders will be able to vote on funding for community proposals, as well as have a say in some development decisions in the $WOMBAT ecosystem, such as:

- Weekly Earning boosts on Womplay
Token distribution
Over 50% of the tokens will be allocated to the community and the ecosystem to secure organic ways of obtaining the token. More information about it is available in the white paper.
