Bio: Dr. Muse Mary George is a lecturer in the Malayalam Department of Aluva Union Christian College. Her work “Sthreepaksha Madhyama Patanangal” was published in 2003. The book is a collection of essays critically analyzing the women representation in the printing and visual media. Her essay ‘Kannatikkazhchayude Chathikkuzhikal’ taken from this anthology is included here. Since it is the most ancient and widely and seriously used media in Kerala, news papers deserve more relevance. she points out her finger critically at the way women are being portrayed in the print media. She got Mahila thilakam Award for Selected Malayali woman personalities by the Social Welfare dept, Govt. of Kerala and Assissi Literacy Award.
