The late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalaitha had introduced a slew of plans for creating a hassle free environment for breastfeeding for lacatating mothers which included dedicated women lounges as well as milk banks to collect and store breast milk that is expressed by travelling mothers which in turn ensures that all babies get their timely healthy feed even if some mothers are not able to produce for their children.

And lately the center of high tech industry; Bangalore from the state of Karnataka also is getting ready for the launch of exclusive breastfeeding lounges under the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation(BMTC).

Kerala boasts of the highest human development index, literacy rate and sex ratio yet we still don’t have the government set up breastfeeding rooms for women in public.

So when is our formative government going to set up feeding rooms in Kerala, India?
