Launch! WiV Global Membership
Dear Women in Voice Community,
As Women in Voice (WiV) grows and develops internationally and locally, we are formally rolling out Women in Voice Membership. Many people have already called themselves WiV Members for a long time. We’re excited for those words to have more significance and value moving forward.
Belonging: The word “member” literally means something that is part of a greater whole. Belonging is something we hold dear at Women in Voice. Connection, collaboration, and building community are core to our values and Mission as an organization. Everyone is welcome to be part of our community and continue building a celebratory community for women and gender minorities in the voice and conversational AI field.
Here at Women in Voice, we have had Chapters and Ambassadors from early on and now are rolling out Global Membership as a foundation for all global and local communities.
Membership: What does Membership mean to us? While previously membership has been fragmented with different chapters hosting forms, we will be moving to a model where there is a centralized Women in Voice Membership form for everyone.
Anyone can become a member! Yes, any gender. Anyone coming across WiV for the first time can opt into joining a chapter nearby to them and immediately get added to the Global Newsletter. This will also help us better understand our community as it shifts over time, and how best to live into our mission to support the people here today. We see a world where we can consider new chapters based on where Members are located around the world.
Tiers: We are committed to there always being a freemium Membership model at Women in Voice. We know that the USD translates differently around the world and we want many of our current free offerings to remain free. There will be paid membership tiers that provide access to additional content, software, and premium services.
Ultimately, we want WiV Membership to have value and be meaningful internationally.
International: Membership is one of the ways we support people who live anywhere being truly connected to the global community, even if they don’t yet have a Chapter nearby.
Next Steps:
As we roll out Membership, you’ll be able to opt-in to becoming a Women in Voice Member online and Member of a Chapter if there is already an existing chapter nearby.
We’ve got a lot of fun programming that will be launched with Membership. We’re excited to show you what we’ve been working on behind the scenes.
