Women in Voice, the global non-profit with a mission to develop, amplify and connect women in the field of voice technology, recently announced Google Assistant as their first corporate sponsor. This partnership builds on the momentum Women In Voice established with Google Assistant at CES 2020, where they collaborated to host the “Women In Tech & Allies” event that drew record attendance in three years running.

“The Google Assistant team has long been a champion of Women in Voice as we’ve grown,” said Dr. Joan Palmiter Bajorek, CEO and Founder of Women in Voice.

“We are excited to formalize our Platinum-level partnership and work together to launch key initiatives that will add even more value to our community in 2021, including Women in Voice’s Inaugural Summit.”

Many Google employees have supported Women in Voice in their journey as an organization. Google Assistant Developer Advocates Mandy Chan and Jessica Dene Earley-Cha presented at webinars and Women in Voice’s Latinx chapter launch event.

Additionally, Women in Voice benefits from the guidance of Cathy Pearl and Leslie Garcia-Amaya from Google Assistant, who were both appointed to the Board of Directors in 2020 to help Women in Voice with their mission.

Leslie Garcia-Amaya, Global Product Partnerships Lead for Google Assistant and Women In Voice Board Member, mentioned the like-minded goals that Women in Voice and Google Assistant share.

“Just as Women In Voice strives to amplify the talent of women working in voice tech, Google Assistant aims to amplify women’s voices through actions such as “Hey Google, tell me about an inspiring woman” and promoting the work of Lilian Rincon, Sr. Product Management Director on Google Assistant,” said Garcia-Amaya.

“Google Product Partnership is passionate about connecting with people around the world who work on voice AI and the future of voice ambient computing. We want to empower developers and promote equity in AI.”
