Women in Voice Global Update
Statement January 2021
In light of last week’s attack on the United States Capitol, we must again renounce white supremacy in all its forms; it is inimical to our organization. The founding and core mission of Women in Voice is to empower, amplify, connect and celebrate all women and people who identify as minority genders in Voice Technology.
As we process the violence from the last week and prepare for unpredictable days ahead, we offer the following resources and encourage our global communities to continue working towards a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment in Voice around the world.

While we grow as a community and organization, it is our collective commitment to progress that fuels our initiatives towards a more inclusive sector. In the past six months we’ve announced our Board of Directors, welcomed six new chapters from five countries and we’re currently hosting our 3rd Annual Mentor Matchup. These are all part of our ongoing efforts to unite the global Women in Voice community, represent gender diversity in Voice Technology and ensure all of our voices are heard.
Women in Voice was founded in the USA and has pending 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. This status is an important component of the roadmap for Women in Voice, which will enable us to benefit from funding and support in order to achieve our global mission. However, our position is non-partisan: white supremacy is counter to everything our organization stands for.
