Back in 2016, we’ve visited and experienced some of the best startup conferences in Europe, in the process of figuring out which ones are to be most significant and why.

Europe is a bit of a mess, in terms of conferences and viewed from a different continent. Every single country seems to have its own major conference on tech startups. And so we need a single overview of what’s going on because these are the places where you’ll find:

  1. Free PR possibilities
  2. Fast meeting opportunities with potent investors
  3. Easy ways to collect the contact of future partners, pre-buyers, followers, etc.

In this listing you will not find developer events or hackathons or meet ups. We’d prefer to concentrate on events where startups get pitched and where investors gather.

And of course this list does not include local events either. For example Women Startup Competition has local events in Berlin, Prague, Kotka, Vienna, Warsaw and London too from February to March and Central European Startup Awards also have some local events from September to December. Please check the listed events links to find out about localized events, near your country.

And if think a little bit like me — a Series Entrepreneur, blogger and mentor of tons of Startups — you would like to work on and develop your business too, therefor you must limit yourself to visit maximum 6–10 conferences a year.

What We suggest to do there?

  1. Try to win any competition there
  2. Try to get on the stage
  3. Check the speaker list if there is some interesting to listen to.
  4. Check the visitors list too and make sure to book a meeting few weeks in advance!
  5. Speak to everybody during your pitch in those maximum 2–4 minutes ;)
  6. Collect business cards, vcards or Bumps and write a memo what you discussed.
  7. When you arrive home send a feedback to all of them ( 1–2 days work — depends of your promises, but it’s well work it)

Whether you are already running a company or you are just curious of what will be trending in the future, attending these events will definitely help you get noticed, expand your network, and meet prospective customers or investors.

Here is our list of the startup events to visit in 2017. Enjoy!
