In modern society, Cloud computing has become an essential component of modern technology infrastructure. It has revolutionized the way individuals and business store access and process data. It is emerging as a game-changer technology and is unlocking new potentials and innovations. So in this article, I will give you an introduction to cloud computing and its importance in society. So tie up your seatbelts before embarking on a futuristic journey.

What cloud computing is?

Before moving further and deeper it’s better to understand what cloud computing is. In simple words, Cloud computing refers to storing and accessing data and resources over the internet instead of computer hardware. Your resources and data would be protected and managed by ISPs(Internet service providers) who will ensure their security, scalability, and availability.

Types of Cloud Computing:

Infrastructure as a service provider (IaaS): IaaS eliminates the need for computer hardware by providing Users flexibility to manage the underlying infrastructure. It provides virtualized computing resources.

For Example, Amazon’s web services(AWS)Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) offers virtual servers in the cloud, allowing the business to expand its computing resources based on the customer’s demand. they can now launch and manage virtual types of machinery as needed without investing in physical servers.

Platform as a service (PaaS): is a type of cloud computing that provides a platform to the developers for building and testing and deploying applications and provides a great level of abstraction by the management of underlying infrastructure and providing pre-configured development tools.

To understand this let us consider an example in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) app engine the developers are allowed to build and deploy applications without any worry about infrastructure development. It offers and provides a fully managed platform where the developers can focus on coding while GCP handles scaling patching and load balancing.

Software as a service (SaaS): it provides software applications that are ready to use over the internet. The user has access to these applications through web browsers or APIs, which eliminates the need for installation and maintenance.

For example, salesforce is one of the popular SaaS providers that provide customer relationship management (CRM) software. Users can access and generate reports without the on-premises software installation.

Benefits of Cloud Computing:

After discussing the types of cloud computing I hope you might get a little bit aware of them. Now it’s time to move towards the benefits of cloud computing in our lives.

Scalability: As discussed earlier that cloud computing is revolutionizing the business and is rapidly scaling up and down their computing resources based on the demand. This enables organizations to handle peak loads efficiently and ensure optimal performance without any investment in infrastructure.

Cost Efficiency: By introducing and adopting cloud computing the business can reduce their expenditures on hardware, software licenses, and maintenance.

Flexibility and Accessibility: With cloud computing users can have access to their data and applications from anywhere on the surface of the globe through an internet connection. Moreover, It is compatible with various multiple devices enabling seamless transitions between devices like smartphones laptops tablets, and desktops.

Reliability and Redundancy: Cloud service providers employ redundant systems and backups of your data which makes your data more reliable and safe. It simply means that in case of any hardware failure your data will not be lost, You can get access to your data and applications through the Internet without any disruption.

Security: Cloud providers invest heavily in security measures including encryption authentication and authorization to protect the data from any unauthorized access.

Healthcare: Cloud computing has revolutionized the healthcare industry by facilitating secure storage and sharing of Electronic health records(EHRs).

Education: Cloud-based learning platforms and virtual classrooms is revolutionizing education by providing personalized and accessible learning experiences. Moreover, It gives students and Tutors access to educational resources, collaboration on projects, and participation in interactive activities from anywhere in the world.

E-commerce: Cloud computing enables online sellers to handle high volumes of traffic, scale their infrastructure and deliver a seamless shopping experience to customers worldwide

Cloud computing is becoming an indispensable technology transforming the way businesses operate and an individual gets access to information and services. it is an amazing game-changer that is changing the entire way of business operations and individual access to information and services. In this article, I have tried my best to give you an introduction to Cloud computing.

Hope you liked Thank you!
