Be part of the strategically selected participants who will develop technical solutions for hand-picked non-profit organizations to support global social challenges. End-to-end, participants will follow an agile methodology of a products life-cycle: from defining business requirements with the NGO’s to coding the final proof-of-concept together with the product owner.

A guided experience for learning: for a good cause and at no cost to you.

Offering a free course on project management or development is one thing, but we know we can do better. women++ wants to give participants a chance to work hands-on on social, global challenges while further developing their tech skills. deploy(impact) will offer tech projects aimed to assist NGOs who need technical solutions to realise their needs.

At the end of the program, participants’ resulting solutions can directly benefit the NGOs, who will be delivered a product, along with the support to get it up and running. To realise these tech solutions, this program offers support to participants along the way on the following: hard and soft-skills, agile development processes, project management skills, industry standards for working in remote teams and mentorship support to teams by sponsoring companies.

A hands-on software development program for tech enthusiasts and interdisciplinary teams

Running remotely, for a duration of six-weeks (part-time), 30 participants will form interdisciplinary teams of technical and non-technical backgrounds to cover all aspects of software development projects.

7 reasons why you should put your skills into practice at deploy(Impact)

  1. Working in something meaningful and rewarding: using your technical skills to work on pressing social challenges. Considering how the world is driven by profit and problems to work on are based on what can give a return of investment. Yet there are actual issues, global challenges, which are largely neglected. For us, and for this program, we want to work on them, since this will give a chance for you to use your skills in a context outside of your job.
  2. Gain real-life experience in the full life-cycle of software development projects: Unlike most Hackathons, this program is designed for participants to have the chance to implement their final solution directly with the product owner.
  3. Every discipline needs a seat at the table: We put stress on building interdisciplinary teams for this program. The inclusion of Interdisciplinary teams across the entire product-development timeline is intended to improve collaboration across the disciplines of strategy, design, and engineering, and improve overall project outcomes.
  4. Welcoming space to ensure a positive experience for everyone: First tech project? We believe that it is imperative to offer a first hands-on experience for those transitioning to tech-related careers, providing the chance to harness skillsets and encouraging participants to continue on that path. We encourage women to set foot in the tech space, no matter their level of expertise.
  5. Diverse and Inclusive mentorship by design: Every participant to this program will get access to exclusive mentorship support from leading companies in the Swiss tech ecosystem. Different sponsoring companies bring diverse mentorship support with their know-how in specific areas.
  6. A sequence of preparatory workshops/webinars leading to the program: These workshops will cover both soft skills and hard skills, all of which can be applied throughout the course of the software development program. Don’t miss out! Register your interest as a participant here and receive all information about this prep events and more.
  7. Community building: work and get to know like minded professionals and build your network within the industry.

Want to learn more? Develop your tech skills during this program from October 16 till November 27. Register your interest as a participant or as a sponsor.
