How You Know You’re Fascinating

Whether people truly know you or not, not everyone is going to like everything about you or everything you have to say. Being yourself unapologetically is not always an easy task — because people with negative energy and negativity exist.

One of my girlfriends recently told me a story of advice her mother had given her back when she was a young girl.

She asked her mother when she would be allowed to start shaving out of fear that her classmates will notice hair on her.

Her mom responded with:

If they notice something specific about you, it means they’re paying close attention to you —

which means you’re fascinating to them.

And you shouldn’t be concerned with those people anyway because it essentially means that you’re more fascinating than they are.

The people you SHOULD be concerned with are those YOU find fascinating. And let THOSE people be the ones who influence and inspire you.

This couldn’t be more true. Negativity and “haters” are never something to be justified but, when you can take it as a compliment rather than a pain in the ass or something you fear—

that’s true freedom…

and that’s when you know you you’re winning.

Haters are confused admirers who can’t understand why everybody likes you. — Paul Coelho
