International Women’s Day, today, ranges from being a public holiday in some countries (such as in China, Nepal, and Uganda) to being a day to protest ongoing gender injustices (such as in Argentina and Turkey).

In others, it’s a day for all to celebrate the women in their life (such as in Italy, Poland, and Russia).

For us, it’s a day to both celebrate all those who identify as women, as well as mobilise for their rights — calling for every woman’s voice to be heard and counted.

Be Counted here

To mark the day, join us, Women’s March Global and Women in Dev for a landmark WOW Festival event that will highlight the urgent need for more data on women and gender-diverse people. Now or Never: The Urgent Need for Data on ALL Women will feature Author of the Obie Award-winning theatrical phenomenon The Vagina Monologues’ V Ensler, Author of ‘Data Feminism’ Lauren Klein, Director of the Centre for Women, Peace and Security Sanam Naraghi-Anderlini, MBE, Executive Director of Akili Dada Sankara Caroline Gitau, Lawyer and human rights activist Tikhala Itaya and Women in Dev’s Mpho Mpofu.

The amazing thinkers will have an in-depth discussion on the tangible ways to place women and gender-diverse people at the centre of the global reset. To rebuild a more just and equitable world, we need to establish tangible mechanisms and pathways that can challenge the status quo. (Register here!)

Make this #InternationalWomensDay count.

It’s our world and our voice. #WeCount
