Women’s Rights Champion in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

A few weeks ago, Women’s March Global had the opportunity to meet Julienne Lusenge — a human rights activists and tireless advocate for women’s health and safety in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Madame Lusenge was attending the Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy to receive the 2018 Women’s International Rights Award. Mme. Lusenge has dedicated her life to empowering women survivors of sexual violence through her work for SOFEPADI and helping them create income generating activities so that they can build a better future.

On this International Women’s Day, we encourage you to watch the interview below and find out why the international community needs to support the people and women of the DRC and stop all violence and war against women. The work that Mme. Lusenge does transforms the lives of women in the DRC and her tireless efforts serve as incredible inspiration to all of us at Women’s March Global.
