100 words
aka one good paragraph per day #Resolution
This is awesome! I’m excited about the idea that Medium could be a place where people find a voice. I think placing constraints on writing is key to shipping!
At around the same time you published your first 100 word essay, I published “One Good Paragraph per Day”.
What would it take for me to ship something everyday? What would it look like to create something worthwhile every day of 2017?
I started publishing Lightning Thoughts as a way to curate my “One Paragraph” posts. I even created an automatic graph to track my progress, here.
One paragraph was more a metaphor than a reality. I don’t think any posts have actually one paragraph long, but it has been a very helpful metaphors as it forced me to not expand the scope a post too much. It helps me go from idea to published in under 30 minutes. All things considered, 100 words is really a much better articulation of the idea!
Thanks a ton to David Kadavy for shipping 100 words! 100 words is a very small stone, but when thrown into the vast lake of Medium, who know where it’s ripples will go! They will certainly impact many shorts that you have never seen. Keep up the great work!
