And the world just kept on spinning, steady, steady, right around the sun.

And on a hot 2016 summer night, the Polynoids had a drink. We were in total agreement of renaming the studio. Something cooler than ‘Woodblock’. Now was the time, while the iron was still hot. So we slammed our fists on the table and called up our EP down in the Ludwigsburg studio to give them the happy news of our decision: From now on, Woodblock shall be known as HOLY VOID™!

In return, he politely thanked us for the call, wished us a good rest of the night and hung up.
And that was that.

The year 2016: A whole lot of Adidas

Best time ever. Woodblock made itself a cozy home, beloved by the people who came to work everyday. We all just enjoyed hanging out together and making just enough money to live a decent Berlin life. Woodblock also found its identity. Slowly, people stopped calling us Mr. and Mrs. Polynoid and instead adopted the now common Uncle and Auntie Woodblock.

Polynoid in return was enjoying its new found incognito status. We were still there lurking in the shadows. Waiting for that special call from that special someone in need of our special services.

So while we were just cruising along planet earth on its annual orbit around that big fat hot star, we made our doctor in footwear commercials. Particularly Adidas, who during this time, had chosen us to be their main one-stop-shop for all things related to kicking balls.
