Miss Germany Studios and Woodblock partner with Xbox to launch digital female influencer program
Miss Germany Studios and Woodblock have partnered to launch “Project V”, a still unnamed program aimed at becoming the leading creator of virtual influencers and fostering fandom around them.
The first focus will be on creating digital female avatars, starting with a digital version of popular Twitch Host Jil Andert.
In regular live streams on the Miss Germany Twitch channel, Jil has been sharing details about the upcoming “Project V” and inviting the community to join her on her journey of creating her own avatar. The streams have already attracted over 650k views, with Jil streaming live for 22 hours.
The final reveal of the avatar will take place at the Miss Germany Final on March 4, 2023. With the start and the reveal of the official program in April 2023, the avatar called Virtual Jil will be the host of everything related to the show and corresponding content.
The “Project V” program aims to bridge the gap between the real and virtual worlds and introduce mainstream audiences to the Metaverse. The plan is to create an ecosystem around each virtual hero and consistently involve the community through various engagement tools. The ultimate goal is to build entertainment franchises around the characters.
Xbox has become the first partner to sponsor the creation phase of Virtual Jil, while Twitch is supporting the project as the official media partner.
Jil Andert, Head of Communication & Media at Miss Germany Studios:
I’m very proud to have created our first avatar, which lays the foundation for bringing the Metaverse to the mainstream. Our belief is that innovation should not only be celebrated by experts on stage, but must also be practical and applicable so that many people can use and benefit from it. By showing people how it’s done, we aim to make the Metaverse accessible and useful to everyone.
Max Klemmer, CEO at Miss Germany Studios:
We are bringing female empowerment to the Metaverse. We believe that representation matters, not only in front of the screens but also behind the scenes. In order to develop diverse and inclusive metaverse applications and digital avatars, we need a diverse group of people who can bring new ideas, create new worlds, and establish new rules. With the Metaverse, we have the opportunity to imagine and build a more equal society.
Kai Fischer, Chief Commercial Officer at Woodblock:
In the avatar space there’s an unoccupied niche: high-level creative entertainment with the ultimate aim of IP creation. No company in the market of avatar creation has this as their main objective. We see amazing opportunities here, especially in the aspect of building not only best-in-class avatars but also a strong community and reach around them and in this way creating a ramp for future direct-to-consumer businesses around the digital characters.
Miss Germany Studios:

Woodblock:
Woodblock is Germany’s leading animation studio, headquartered in Berlin with offices in Ludwigsburg, Munich, Copenhagen & Los Angeles. Woodblock is a global brand. Built by artists and running on creativity.
