Polynoid, Emmy-nominated directors collective, returns with new animated short film ‘BYE BEAR’, written and directed by Jan Bitzer
The directors collective Polynoid is making a return to the festival circuit with the release of their latest animated short film, “BYE BEAR.” Produced by Woodblock Animation Studio, the film’s first official trailer is now available online, and the world premiere of “BYE BEAR” is set for Oct. 8th at the prestigious Sitges Film Festival.
Written and directed by Jan Bitzer, the film marks the progression of Polynoid’s ongoing artistic exploration of technology and nature. It also solidifies their distinct filmmaking style as they push boundaries between cinematic experience and experimental art house.
“‘BYE BEAR’ is an Asimovian tech noir world with a soft spot for 80’s dust and nostalgia. It is a film about friendship and farewell. Transformation. And everything is wrapped in a wild context of robotics and taxidermy,” describes Jan Bitzer.
After its world premiere at the Sitges Film Festival, “BYE BEAR” will embark on its festival run with screenings worldwide.
