A Plan at Hand
Every builder understands.
We have a plan at hand and need a band
Of willing helping hands
Projects plans and end products
Every builder understands.
We’ve made the pie and me O my
Did I use the right recipe?
If the pieces aren’t positioned
We’ll wear the legacy.
It’s all about warmth and comfort
And a fire that burns all night
A slow combustion wood burner
That’s installed just right.
No short cuts and if’s and buts
It’s got to do the job
No smokey streams from iffy seams
When we burn the first log.
I’ve had a rest and now’s the test
To revisit a job half done
It piques my pulse with pleasure
And know we’ll have some fun.
Yesterday has disappeared
Today will be the test
Whatever the eventual outcome is
We’ll know we’ve done our best.
It’s all about the journey
Aches and anticipation
The arrival times are unknown
Meanwhile, we taste the satisfaction.
