Saplings’ Shadows

A Message from the Ponderosa Pines

Canada geese play summer in a clearing in Arizona’s Ponderosa Pine forest.

A neighborhood
of tree support
and all that’s good.

The Ponderosa Pines speak…even when wind is not playing their music!

Needle, branch, root
phases of growth.
To all these trees
I give my oath.

Two saplings, casting shadows, giving respect to Sun and Earth.

Tiny two rise
to join in chorus
and add new growth
in this forest.

Let us all honor, respect, and bless sacred photosynthesis.

Oh, Nature’s hand!
It sows these seeds.
But Nature Love
fills all my needs.

NOTE: I am grateful for a recent visit to the area of the largest stand of Ponderosa Pine trees in the United States. It is in the Coconino National Forest in Arizona. Thank you for reading and sharing joy!
