Strawberries Marsala — Fragole Al Marsala
Strawberries Marsala is a simple, light, refreshing dessert that is perfect for Mother’s Day. Strawberries with Marsala, sweetened with granulated sugar, the aromatics of vanilla extract and nutmeg, and whipped cream and a mint leaf, give this dessert an elegant presentation and a fabulous taste. The macerated strawberries allow them time to sit in the sweet liquid, softening and absorbing all the delicious, delicate flavours. An easy no-bake dessert made with love that will make every Mom smile.
Ingredients:
2 pound strawberries, hulled and quartered
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup sweet Marsala wine
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions:
1) Toss together strawberries, sugar, nutmeg, Marsala wine and vanilla extract until the sugar dissolves.
2) Let the strawberries macerate at room temperature for 30 minutes, occasionally tossing before serving.
3) Top whipped cream and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
3) Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate any remaining strawberries for up to three days.
