Plenty of analytics solutions offer some form of a Schema, a structure that brings together your data and organizes it for use. But, not all Schemas are cut from the same cloth! We built the Woopra Schema with several unique features that add another level of power, flexibility and customizability.

If you’re comparing solutions, or just getting started in your Woopra setup, it’s helpful to understand what differentiates the Woopra Schema from the rest and how to personalize it to meet your specific business needs!

An Introduction to Schemas

The Woopra Schema makes it easy for the entire organization to know what data is being tracked. Consider it your personal data dictionary, outlining the different data sources and types with descriptions that everyone on your team can understand.

Within the platform, you’ll find a Visitor Data Schema and an Action Data Schema. The Visitor Data Schema tells Woopra what kind of data you are identifying a customer with and how it should be aggregated. Think of properties such as name, company, email, gender, title, signup date, etc. Any piece of data that you’re collecting about who your customers are can be added and customized in the Visitor Data Schema.

Visitor Schema

The Action Data Schema tells Woopra the type of data you’re sending for a particular event and any associated properties. These could be events brought in from one of your AppConnect integrations or any of the custom actions you’re tracking. For example, a SaaS company might want to measure signups, trial engagement, conversions, upgrades, and so on!

Pro Tip: Check out our documentation for more details on the Action and Visitor Schemas!

What Sets the Woopra Schema Apart?

Woopra’s Schema allows you to design a configuration that is tailored to your specific needs. Other solutions use WYSIWYG editors or don’t offer any customizability in the events you’re tracking — including how they’re displayed or aggregated.

With Woopra, you can create a bespoke experience for your company, as though you had an entire analytics solution developed just for you!

Help Every Employee Understand What Data is Available to Them

Most employees in the organization don’t know how to run a SQL query or read complex tables. With Woopra’s schema, they don’t have to. You can customize how events are displayed, aggregated, named and the corresponding event types so that anyone can easily understand, access and analyze the data that they need.

Empower Everyone in the Organization to Make Data-Driven Decisions

With Events and Actions clearly defined in your schema, long gone are the days of pulling reporting and metrics for marketing, sales, customer success and beyond. Woopra is aware of the context of each event and how to process and display these events.

The usability and actionability of your customer data increases because the data is displayed in a way that’s consumable everyone — from the data-scientist to the administrative assistant.

Automated Reporting Dynamically Adapts to Your Customer Schema

When personalizing your schema, Woopra’s UI and reporting will automatically adjust based on the information you’ve provided. For example, if you wanted to report on event properties such as transactions and the amounts, you could adjust the property type to a number and have all reporting aggregate that number by a currency amount.

This tells the system that the event is reporting on a dollar amount and will impact the reports that are generated and the places that you can leverage the information for analysis.

A Customer Analytics Solution Reflective of Your Business Needs

Ultimately, the flexibility and customizability empower you to create a solution designed for your needs and that of your organization. It enables Woopra to be used across the organization and allows it to become the point of reference for any employee seeking to democratize their customer data and make decisions fueled by data.

And, while proud of what we’ve built so far, this is just the beginning! In future releases, we’re going to incorporate checkboxes that will allow you to highlight interesting moments, dynamic attributes and fields and more!
