Whenever we are invited to a party or a social gathering, we are bound by some expectations; the host has considered us worthy enough to involve us on their special occasion. We must follow certain etiquettes and contribute something from our side to let the host know we too care for them and are grateful for being invited.

If we follow the tips and take care of certain things, we’ll not only make that day memorable for us but we will also be remembered for our generous and kind behavior and it’s a matter of charm to be a part of someone’s memories.

  1. You should dress appropriately: You need to make sure that you are dressed well and aren’t wearing anything that may make others uncomfortable. It would be better if you ask the host about the theme of the party and if it's not specified you need to dress formally. Also, do not dress in such a way that makes you get more attention than the host itself, it’s not an offense but if you genuinely care for the host let them take the spotlight.
  2. Do not arrive too early: When you arrive too early you will disturb the host during their last-minute rush, and they’ll start to welcome you which will distract them from preparation. If you want to help them ask a day before to be an insider during party preparation and if you don't then you better arrive at the specified time.
  3. Do not eat too much: When you are in a social gathering everyone tends to notice each other and if someone finds you eating like you’ve never had a full meal, they’ll surely going to talk about you later. Also, there are chances that the guest number exceeds from expected and the host may run out of food to serve, during such a scenario, eating a bit less will let them manage the event better.
  4. Keep the conversation casual and inoffensive: Nothing worse can happen in a gathering than two guests starting a fight, it’ll not only bother the guest but will also degrade the impression of the host in other’s eyes. so You shouldn't say anything that may ignite a conflict with you or between the others; some people do it intentionally to ruins someone’s party but that’s surely become the last time invitation of theirs.
  5. Tell whether you are attending the party or not a day before: When you let the host know that you may not be able to attend the party a day before, you’ll allow them to cut the preparation of a guest and they may use that for something else. Also, they’ll regard your concern that you take them seriously and let them know about the reason.
  6. Do not bring your uninvited friend with you: When you bring someone who isn’t part of the gathering, soon you too will be expelled from the list. When we organize a party the theme and expected events are planned and only those are invited who can easily vibe with them; if you bring someone who is not comfortable, others too will be bothered.
  7. Trash the habit of networking: You aren't there to build a network or to promote a business but to be a part of someone’s happy moment. People usually hate it when someone starts to create their network and invade someone’s social circle, it's regarded as being self-centered and as an exploitation of the relationship. It doesn't mean that you start ignoring every conversation but you shouldn't be obsessed with making new friends.
  8. Greet them with a thank you when you leave: When someone organizes a party they are worried about all the minute details of the event and are so busy for the days to make things better, and if you tell them that they've organized a great party and you enjoyed it a lot; they’ll feel blessed to have you at the event. Additionally, pick a favorite thing or dish that you genuinely like and give a compliment to the host about it.

When you follow these tips you’ll be regarded as an inviting person with whom everyone is comfortable. Whether you get something or not by attending that event, whether you even genuinely enjoyed it or not you’ll surely become a part of someone’s memorable event and will be noticed by many people for your polite behavior.
