If you’re like me and you like mysteries, then you can’t miss reading this.
Finally, 532 years later we know the truth.
Christopher Columbus's arrival in America took place on October 12, 1492. The true nationality of the world-famous navigator was revealed on October 12, 2024.
An investigation that took 22 years revealed that Columbus was neither Portuguese nor Genoese.
It was through DNA tests that the explorer’s true nationality was revealed.
Christopher Columbus, who was the first explorer to lead a European fleet to reach America, died more than 500 years ago. And many doubts have persisted since then about the sailor.
Columbus was supposedly from Genoa (today Italy), according to many historians. Others claim that he was Portuguese. Or Greek, or Irish, or Swedish. But his nationality has always been shrouded in mystery and conspiracy theories. Maybe a spy working for the king of Portugal or another country, who knows?
Now we know that he was Spanish after all. And Jewish. The revelation emerged in a documentary published on TVE.
