When I was in kindergarten, I loved playing swing games with my friends after school. The rule is whoever swung the fastest and highest won! So, I pumped my arms and legs to get closer to the sky.

I loved when the wind brushed through my hair and tickled my face. And you know what the best part was? When I reached the peak of the swing, time seemed to stop for a moment, and I could see the entire schoolyard. It was a beautiful view.

Oh, what a great day!

Except…it turned out that I lost the game. Maybe I got a little too enthusiastic (okay, maybe a lot!) because the next thing I knew, I was taking an unplanned tumble. Believe it or not, I still remember the feeling — it wasn’t really painful, but kind of exciting. Lol.

Thankfully, my teacher saw everything and helped me treat my wounds. When I got home, I quickly dropped off my bag and ran to my friend’s house, hoping my mom wouldn’t notice the cuts on my feet, hands, and my face.

Looking back, it was pure, unadulterated bliss.

Sadly, as I’ve grown up, it feels like there’s no time for fun anymore. Time flies so fast now. I have so many things I want to do, but never enough hours in the day. My 9–5 job leaves me exhausted, before I know it, it’s already 9 PM!

Oh, God, I need more time to recharge and enjoy my hobbies!!!

Apparently, I’m not alone in this time warp. Some articles say many people in their 20s and 30s feel the same way.

So, if you’re constantly battling the clock, welcome to the club! This article is for you.

Why Does 24 Hours Never Feel Like Enough?

From what I’ve read, one major reason why time flies faster is because we try to be productive and do a lot of things in a day. Let’s be honest, our world is wired for speed. We’re bombarded with social media updates showcasing young, successful people, and the pressure to keep up can be a real time-sucker.

That’s why we fill our days with constant hustling, sacrificing sleep and breaks, convinced that “more” equals “better.” But remember, the best thing to do is not the quantity, but quality. The more we rush into everything, the more burnout we experience and the less productive we become.

Another reason we might feel like we never have enough time is that our body is present, but our mind is in the future. With a busy schedule, our minds push us to do more and more! Sometimes, we haven’t even finished today’s tasks yet worrying about tomorrow’s. This isn’t good at all!

Take a moment to enjoy a cup of coffee, have a real conversation (without checking phone!), and truly connect with the people around you. Remember, this moment won’t come again. By cherishing the present, we’ll find ourselves less stressed and more in control, and the feeling of time flying faster will magically start to fade.

Tomorrow Has Its Worry

When all you do is worry, well yeah, 24 hours feels like a blink! For me, the game-changer was figuring out what mattered most: God.

The more I focused on God, the more I brought it into my everyday life and the more peace I found. It helped me figure out who I am and what I’m supposed to be doing here. With that peace came a sense of purpose, and suddenly, everything felt less overwhelming.

There’s a fantastic verse in the Bible, Matthew 6:34, Jesus says,

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

My tip is whenever you feel anxious or worried about the future, you can turn to the Lord in prayer. Trust in God, and He will always be there to take care of us.
