First and foremost:

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter Sunday.

Jesus died on the cross and resurrected over 2000 years ago and gave us new life.

Without him, we would be trapped in sin and would forever be separated from God.

He is Risen.

Today I want to talk about my experience on the day before Easter Sunday.

The days leading up to Easter, I felt convicted over the consumption of alcohol. I got drunk while on a trip to France and I felt convicted about my drunkenness.

I set up a phone call with a good friend of mine to discuss what had happened. I needed some encouragement and advice about what to do moving forward.

Before that phone call took place, I had a call set up with another one of my good buddies. He reached out to me the week before wanting to chat and catch up.

I was so glad to hear from him.

That phone call was a game changer. We talked for 55 minutes about various topics, but mostly about our walk with Jesus.

I was walking on the treadmill at the gym during that phone call. The time flew by and the call was over before I knew it.

That led me into my second call of the day just 30 minutes later.

That call was so encouraging. I told my friend about my drunkenness in France and he encouraged me. He said that by reaching out to him and by talking him about it, it was clear that I felt convicted and wanted to change.

That phone call in addition to my first phone call with my other friend set the tone for a great day.

It led me to reach out to my other friend and check it to see how he has been.

It also led me to call my mom and dad and check in on them too.

Overall, I spent over 3 hours on the phone that day.

I wouldn’t want to spend it any other way.

You see, Jesus wants us to show love to one another.

By checking in on friends and family, you show them that you care and that you want to maintain and deepen the relationship with them.

Without my friends and family, my life would be totally different.

I am blessed to have all of them in my life.

I encourage you to reach out to 1 friend and 1 family member today.

It will set a great tone for the day.

You won’t regret it.

Have a blessed day.
