The Dilemma of a New Medium Writer
How long will you last on the platform?
In this crazy 100mph world, it’s easy to get caught up in it all and wanting everything like yesterday. But is that going to be of benefit to you going forward? I think not!
Three levels map out how you do on Medium and other platforms.
Short Term
This is a difficult part to conquer and top Medium publishers will tell you this. The first 1k followers and being on the platform for up to 1 year.
This is the area that will break more than half the people who join the platform. Why is that? Patience. The single biggest issue with people and the modern-day mindset.
Note. If you want everything like yesterday you’ll struggle on Medium.
Medium Term
This is an area I would call the “decision box”. The period when you’ve hit your first target(s) and think great I’ve made it. 1+ years of platform activity
Complacency can kick in which is always a bad thing. You must remain motivated and want to produce your next publication. Growth will be an issue if you don’t push forward.
Note. Avoid complacency at all costs when you reach this phase.
